How To Store Coffee
Not all coffee storage is created equal. Coffee beans have a delicate flavor, and it helps to keep them protected from light, oxygen, moisture and heat. They also need to be stored in an airtight container to keep their flavor from degrading quickly over time.
The first step in storing coffee is to buy only as much as you can use within one month. Storing coffee for longer than this period may result in poor-tasting brews.
After purchasing the coffee, move it away from light. Light will diminish the flavor of your coffee beans, so store them in an opaque, airtight container in a dark place that doesn't experience temperature fluctuations.
Also store these containers out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources. Heat and humidity will cause your beans to age prematurely, making them bitter and stale before they reach their expiration date.
