There are two main ways to make a cup of coffee: brewing and percolating.
The most common way, brewing, involves pouring hot water over finely ground coffee beans and waiting for the liquid to steep. The brewed coffee then goes through a filtration system and is served. Percolation, on the other hand, involves boiling water in a vessel placed on top of or submerged into the ground coffee beans. The water then seeps through the grounds as it is being heated by the boiling process, allowing for the infusion of flavor. This method also results in quick brewing time and clearer flavors in the resulting liquid.
Coffee is a brewed beverage made from the roasted and ground seeds of the coffee plant. There are a number of methods for making coffee, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Coffee can be made by boiling the grounds in water or steeping them in cold water; this is often called "drip" coffee. It can also be made by heating water to the boiling point and then capturing the steam, which is then cooled down to make an espresso or similar drink. In all cases, however, it requires careful extraction of the grounds from the liquor.
When you're ready to brew your coffee, you'll need:
-Ground coffee (coarse grind)
-A filter (paper or metal)
-A mug/cup
-Hot water
This is a short documentary about the simple but quite unusual process of how coffee is made. It's not a complicated process, but it can be pretty interesting to watch as the beans come out of the roasting machine and go through their cooling down period.
